Cyber Fueled IT and Friggin' Nerds Media had a great time spending some time together having a few laughs and building a new streaming PC for Britt & Mike.
Britt & Mike were in desperate need for a new computer. First off, they would steal the laptop from their daughter whenever they needed to stream their podcast! (Poor Penny!) Secondly, the laptop while streaming would utterly chug, with all the scenes, sound alerts and entertainment they provide to their viewers, the little laptop could barely keep up. They were in dire need of a new PC and Cyber Fueled IT came to the rescue.
In a design session with Mike and Britt, we worked together to find a PC that fit their style, as well as their need's for streaming and content creation. If there is one thing that can side line creative processes and workflows its when the tech your using doesn't work when you need it too, or is working too slowly. Having the right tool for the job is key to success and thats just what we provided for them.
The Build:
CFI put together a build during the design session that would suite their creative needs as well as their entertainment needs. Since they would be using this PC for streaming, photo editing and video editing, they also wanted to have a little fun and game on this machine. In the end, this is what we decided on.
The Build
i5 13600K (14 core processor)
Deepcool AK620 Cooler (THIS THING IS MASSIVE)
Kryonaut Thermal Grease
ASRock Z790 - LiveMixer
32GB's DDR5 GSkill Memory
AMD 6600XT Radeon
EVGA 650 watt PSU
Fractal North - Black / Tempered Glass Side Panel
1TB Vortex M2 (OS Drive)
2TB Vortex M2 (Games Drive)
8TB Firecuda Drive (For recordings)

We did have a few.."Uh Oh" moments and some things to always look out for. First, the air cooler for the CPU was absolutely MASSIVE. Mounting it was a bit of a challenge, and it just barely cleared the memory and the side of the case! If they had chosen a different chassis or different memory, this live streamed event would have been cut short and ended in disaster! (thankfully it did not!)
Building in this Fractal North case was a breeze, cable routes were relatively easy, cable management was easily manageable with pre-supplied velcro strips and additional cable ties if needed. I did have to snake the HD Audio cable length wise as I did not like the pressure the PSU put on the cable when I tried to snake it up the back side and plug in, there just wasn't enough clearance between the PSU & cut out for the cable. The case has great airflow, and the wood aesthetics in the front look great.
The end result came out incredibly clean and they were thrilled with it. It doesn't have to much RGB, and through the tinted smoked glass, it creates a nice ambient glow. The latest Intel 13th Gen platform will serve them hopefully for a few years and does allow for some upgrades, such as processor and memory if they so choose. I can't wait to see the content they create using this new machine they have named "Celine".
If you want to see their machine in action, make sure to tune into their Twitch channel and YouTube channels, and be sure to follow them on Twitter. They make some excellent and informative content and are an incredibly funny and personable group. Make sure to follow all their excellent content!
